CGC Trading Cards Certifies Rare MetaZoo Golden Ticket

Like a Pristine 10 grade, golden tickets are something you may not see every day, but CGC Trading Cards™ has just certified a new rarity with that impressive grade. The Secret Rare Golden Ticket card was introduced in the MetaZoo Cryptid Nation: Wilderness 1st Edition set, which was released on March 31, 2022.

The holographic Golden Ticket card illustration features imagery of two Cumberland Dragon beasties, looking inward at a Mothman-themed medal in the center. Floral accents form the borders of the card, along with a traditional ticket-shaped outline on a black background. There is no text on the front of the card, nor any serialized numbers. The back of the card is the same as all other current MetaZoo cards.

Pulled during a Whatnot livestream on April 3, 2022, this is the first of only two Golden Ticket cards that have been found so far. The second example was pulled during a Drip livestream on April 23, 2022. To receive the CGC Pristine 10 grade, the card has perfect centering and no evidence of any manufacturing or handling defects. Corners appear perfect to the naked eye and Gem Mint under 10-times magnification, while the surface is free of print spots and also displays perfect gloss.

MetaZoo creator Mike Waddell has been relatively silent on the purpose of the Golden Ticket card but has hinted at the possibility of Bronze and Silver tickets as well. The mystery surrounding the Golden Ticket card has taken the trading card collecting community by storm, as the meaning and quantity of the tickets is currently unknown.
