CGC Cards Featured Card of the Month: Regigigas 11th Movie Commemorative Promo
Posted on 1/9/2025
Game: Pokémon
Set: 11th Movie Commemoration Promos
Card: Regigigas
What makes it special? After the release of Pokémon 4Ever (2001) in the United States, Wizards of the Coast lost the rights to produce Pokémon TCG cards, ending the release of Pokémon movie promos in North America. However, Japan continued to get special promo cards based on special Pokémon or trainers highlighted in Pokémon movies. One of these cards is this Regigigas, which appears in Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior (2008).
Did you know? Many Japanese Pokémon movie promo cards come packaged in half decks or commemorative sets. Including Regigigas, the 11th Movie Commemoration set includes 9 holographic cards. The other eight cards include Ice Sky’s Shaymin, Piplup, Pikachu, Magnezone, Reverse World’s Giratina, Mamoswine, Shieldon and Dialga, each of which were featured in Giratina and the Sky Warrior.
