CGC-certified Pokémon Cards Heat Up March Heritage Auction
Posted on 3/12/2026
A Kangaskhan Parent/Child Promo Pokémon card certified CGC Gem Mint 10 is turning heads in an ongoing Heritage Auctions sale. Online bidding has surpassed $50,000 for it more than two weeks before the Trading Card Games and Manga Signature Auction, which is set to end on March 27-28, 2026.
The Kangaskhan, Pokémon (1998) Japanese Unnumbered Garura Parent/Child Tournament Prize Promo graded CGC Gem Mint 10 (lot 36051) is one of only two examples graded CGC Gem Mint 10, according to the CGC Cards Population Report, with only one graded higher. This prize card was given to the winners of a parent-child tag team tournament held in 1998 during the Kamex Trophy Battle TCG tournament in Japan. They are incredibly scarce, with only 20 known examples recorded in circulation.
A similar Kangaskhan Garura Parent/Child Tournament Prize Promo graded CGC Pristine 10 (the highest grade available on the CGC Cards Grading Scale, just above CGC Gem Mint 10) realized $640,507 in a Goldin sale in March 2026, highlighting just how important this card is to the history of the Pokémon TCG. Additionally, a Charizard, Pokémon (1999) Base Set 1st Edition Holo graded CGC Gem Mint 10 (lot 36069) is sharing the spotlight with the Kangaskhan. Of the 599 total examples in the CGC Cards Population Report, only 33 of them are graded CGC Gem Mint 10 and only two are graded higher. Charizard is arguably the most popular Pokémon of all time, and its Base Set cards are chased by collectors around the world.
