Heritage Offers Stunning Collection of CGC-certified Magic: The Gathering Artist Proof Cards

How incredible would it be to own a massive collection of Magic: The Gathering Artist Proof cards, featuring signatures from some of the most well-known artists in the TCG? Well, now’s your chance — Heritage Auctions is offering a near-complete set of Artist Proof cards from the Magic: The Gathering Beta Edition set, including the entire sub-set of the renowned Power 9! Online bidding for Heritage’s Trading Card Games and Manga Signature Auction is already underway, with the auction set to end on June 26-27, 2026.

The set includes 285 Magic: The Gathering (1993) Limited Edition Beta Artist Proof cards, each certified by CGC x JSA as authentic and signed by various artists (lot 37006). Nearly every card also includes a sketch. Beta Artist Proof cards were printed to ensure the quality of the cards before they were printed for public release in packs. Bidding for this set had already exceeded $150,000 more than two weeks before the auction.

Every single card in the 285-card lot is signed by the card’s respective artist. Most notable are the Power 9 — Magic’s most powerful group of cards, which Wizards of the Coast has vowed to never reprint — with each including a sketch on the back (except for Black Lotus, which is signed and numbered by Christopher Rush, but not sketched).

Heritage is also offering several complete foil sets of Magic: The Gathering cards (lots 37008 as well as 38034 through 38040) that have been certified by CGC.

• a Luc Mertens, Magic: The Gathering (2015) Special Commemorative Factory – Blank Back graded CGC 6.5 (lot 37011)
