CSG-certified Derek Jeter Rookie Card Foils the Competition

In the modern New York Yankees era, Derek Jeter is one of the player names that immediately comes to mind. His 20 career seasons in pinstripes add to the iconic legacy of this team.

Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®) recently certified this 1993 SP #279 Derek Jeter card a CSG Mint Plus 9.5. The card features a young Derek Jeter tossing a ball in the middle of a foil refractor background. The Upper Deck logo is visible above his head with the New York Yankees, his name, position and Premier Prospects logo across the bottom of the card. This card in such a high grade generally is valued over $10,000.

The 1993 SP baseball set features 290 cards and includes several famous names including Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr. and Barry Bonds. The set is best known for its Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon rookie cards.

Jeter won five world series, five gold gloves and five silver slugger awards during his time with the Yankees. He also won Rookie of the Year, an All-Star MVP and a World Series MVP award. Finishing his career with 3,465 hits, 260 home runs and a .310 batting average, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020 on 396 ballots of 397 total.
