CGC Trading Cards Provides an Update on Metal Pokémon Cards

CGC Trading Cards™ is dedicated to providing collectors and dealers with superior encapsulation that protects and preserves cards. When it was found that Pokémon Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection cards were susceptible to damage during transit, CGC Trading Cards immediately began working to develop a solution to safely encapsulate the metal cards.

After testing the first proposed solution, it has been determined that CGC Trading Cards’ standards for safe and secure encapsulation have not been met. Thus, CGC Trading Cards will continue to develop and test holder adaptations. A holder that does not reliably and consistently protect the cards is not an option. We appreciate your patience while the team identifies the best solution for safely encapsulating the metal Pokémon cards.

As soon as a solution is in place, all submissions with metal Pokémon Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection Pikachu or Charizard cards will be expedited.

If submitters do not wish to wait, they can contact Customer Service to have their submission returned. Any metal cards will not be encapsulated, and the grading fees will be fully refunded. Any standard cards that are part of the submission will be encapsulated as normal.
