Free Association, Vintage Baseball Edition: Episode #2 of the CSG Podcast, Collect This!

For episode #2 of CSG’s podcast Collect This!, host Alan Goldsher sat down with Heritage Auctions’ newly-minted Executive Vice President of Sports Joe Orlando for an engaging, oftentimes hilarious game of baseball free association, in which Joe discussed how and why iconic old-school players such as Ken Griffey Jr., Willie Mays, Hank Aaron and Sandy Koufax are so important to sports card collectors.

“Not only is Joe a hobby legend — and not only is he a genuinely nice dude — but he’s a walking baseball encyclopedia,” Goldsher said. “I tried to throw him some metaphorical curveballs, if you will, but I couldn’t sneak anything past him — the guy is the Tony Gwinn of baseball trivia. And as is always the case when I speak with Joe, I walked away from our conversation with some great new insight and information about collecting.”
