Several Pokémon cards certified by CGC Trading Cards® realized impressive prices in recent PWCC auctions. These cards were sold through the online marketplace in in late August and early September 2022.
A Charizard, Pokémon (2003) Skyridge #146/144 Holo graded CGC 9 realized a resounding $4,680 in a sale ending September 4. The beautiful Crystal Holo card set a record for the highest price realized for a CGC Trading Cards-certified example of this particular Charizard.
Just a few days earlier, on August 31, an incredibly rare Rayquaza Gold Star, Pokémon (2005) EX Deoxys #107 Holo graded CGC 8 realized $3,500 in a fixed price sale. The trading card features the legendary Pokémon Rayquaza in its black-and-gold shiny colors instead of the traditional green. PWCC Marketplace and CGC Trading Cards® have achieved a streamlined pathway to grading and selling through a recently formed operational partnership between the two companies. The new grading and selling program is accessed through an online submission process on the PWCC website. Everything is managed through the PWCC vault — there’s no need to manually fill or print submission forms.
Cards sent to CGC Trading Cards through PWCC receive priority grading and encapsulation. Graded cards are returned to PWCC and immediately added to the auctioneer’s Auction Builder Curation Algorithm process, which optimizes cards for sale in upcoming PWCC Weekly Sunday Auctions.
