Team CGC Trading Cards Advanced to Day Two of the Baltimore Regionals!

A new competitive season is upon us, Pokémon fans! Team CGC Trading Cards has officially kicked off the 2023 season by advancing to day two of the Baltimore Regional Championships, at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland, on September 16-18. This was the first North American competition for the 2023 season, but the last before the Lost Origin booster set cards become tournament legal.

Representing Team CGC Trading Cards, Azul Garcia Griego placed 14^th and Caleb Gedemer placed 27^th overall. Both players utilized decks featuring the psychic-type Mewtwo V-Union cards. For Mewtwo V-Union, these decks function by setting up the namesake card, healing damage and controlling what your opponent can do. While Daniel Altavilla and Kidd Starck did not make it to day two of the event, we look forward to cheering them on at the Peoria Regional Championships at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois, on September 30-October 2.

Although he is not a member of the Team CGC Trading Cards competitive team, we also want to applaud one of our own employees, Colin Yates, for making it to day two and placing 68^th at the Baltimore Regionals.

Team CGC Trading Cards was assembled by Danny Oesterreich, and is comprised of seasoned players Daniel Altavilla, Azul Garcia Griego, Caleb Gedemer and Kidd Starck. The team first competed in the 2022 season at the Secaucus Pokémon Regional Championships, Secaucus, New Jersey, on May 20-22. The team concluded the 2022 season by making it to day two of the Pokémon World Championships at the ExCel events center in London, England, August 18-21.
