Aaron Judge, Broken Records and the Hobby: A Collect This! Special

Posted on 10/3/2022

CSG's flagship podcast takes a look at how baseball card collecting might be impacted by the New York Yankees slugger's ascension to home run king.

After jacking his 61st round-tripper of the 2022 campaign on September 28, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge now shares the American League single season home run record with Roger Maris, thus it's the ideal time for CSG Marketing Manager and lifelong New York Yankees card collector Susan Lulgjuraj to make her Collect This! debut.

In a special episode of CSG’s flagship podcast, the woman who plugged-in sports collectors know as “Sooz” discusses Judge's hobby history, breaking down how the newly-crowned home run king's (or, as of this writing, co-king's) card value might or might not fluctuate in the coming weeks, months and years.

“I was lucky to get Sooz on such short notice,” Goldsher says, “because few in the hobby can discuss Aaron Judge and his cards with such passion and knowledge. She put Judge and his home run record into the context of the hobby, and I think collectors will get a whole lot out of her take.”

With Judge’s future in the Bronx in question, Goldsher’s toughest task during the interview was keeping Sooz’s nerves at bay, as she's super-concerned that Judge won’t be wearing Yankees pinstripes next year.

New episodes of CSG’s sports card and collectibles podcast Collect This! will drop every Thursday, and can be heard on Apple, Spotify and all major podcast platforms. For more information, write [email protected].
