CSG Certifies LeBron James Rookie Card Valued in the Thousands

A valuable LeBron James #111 2003-04 Topps Chrome card was recently certified by the experts at Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®), earning a grade of CSG 10 Gem Mint. Cards in this grade easily sell for thousands of dollars.

CSG has a storied history with #111 LeBron James cards. In early 2021, a Refractor variant of this rookie card graded CSG Gem Mint 10 had the honor of being the very first card ever graded by CSG. That card was sold for nearly $100,000 in April 2021. It is among two Refractor versions of this card in the CSG Population Report, in addition to 48 examples of the standard card recorded there.

LeBron James started playing professional basketball when he was just 19 years old. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him as the first overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft, and he was named Rookie of the Year for the 2003-2004 season. Now considered one of the greatest players of all time, James has been part of four NBA championships, earned four NBA MVP Awards and shared in two Olympic gold medals.
