Favre's achievements on the field can also translate into value for sports collectors who add some of the best Brett Favre rookie cards on the market to their collection. Like all the biggest names in the NFL, Brett Favre's rookie cards can fetch hundreds of dollars as they remain incredibly popular with collectors and hobbyists.

In this article, we dig deep into who Brett Favre is and explore the current fair market value for the best cards—helping you decide if Brett Favre rookie cards are something you want to pursue for your collection. We have a lot to get through, so let's get to it.

Who Is Brett Favre?

Brett Favre was a standout quarterback in college at the University of Southern Mississippi. In 1991, the Atlanta Falcons selected Favre early in the second round with the 33rd overall pick of the NFL Draft. However, his career didn't exactly race out of the gates, and he started slowly.

He received minimal playing time in Atlanta and his debut season was anything but impressive. His coach even stated that it would "Take a plane crash for him to start Favre," a quote that would make him eat his words years later.

After only one season in Georgia, Favre was then traded to the Green Bay Packers, where he'd become an NFL legend. Here, he earned the nickname "The Gunslinger," rewriting records in the process. He led the Packers to three NFC Championship games in a row, two Super Bowls, and helped lift the Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl XXXI.

Fast-forward two decades, Favre is still considered one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. At the time of his 2010 retirement, Favre held several league records. To this day, he still owns the record for most consecutive games played with 299 in a row.

Named the NFL Most Valuable Player for three consecutive years, Favre was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016. Undoubtedly, Favre was an incredible player, but how do his achievements translate into rookie cards?

The Best Brett Favre Rookie Cards

1991 Topps Stadium Club Brett Favre #94

Sparking intrigue among collectors for years, the Topps Stadium Club Brett Favre #94 holds value differently from every other card on this list. It doesn't celebrate Favre's career or highlight a particular stage, but draws attention because of a printing error where Favre's last name is misspelled "Faver."

While not a perfect collector's item, this unique mistake can appeal to some collectors and bump its value. Plus, the card's uniqueness gives it a higher value than many others on this list.

SportsCardsPro indicates grade 10 versions, on average, go for $275, and there are around three card sales per week. This is an intriguing stat if you're after one of these rare cards.

On September 20, 2022, a Gem Mint grade 10 version of the card was sold for $350. According to Sports Cards Pro, even an ungraded version of this card is worth around $9.
