Posted on 12/29/2022
A rare Magic: The Gathering card certified by CGC Trading Cards® realized over $7,000 in a recent PWCC Weekly Auction. The Magic card was just one of many CGC-certified trading cards graded through the partnership between CGC Trading Cards and PWCC Marketplace that sold in November and December 2022.
Leading the CGC-certified cards across November and December’s auctions was a Volcanic Island, Magic: The Gathering (1993) Limited Edition (Beta) graded CGC 7.5. Volcanic Island is a Dual Land card — a card that allowed players to tap two kinds of lands — that is very popular in Commander and Vintage decks. For being nearly 30 years old, this example is still in great condition. It realized $7,500 on November 27.
Meanwhile, four CGC-certified Venusaur, Pokémon (1999) Base Set Shadowless 1st Edition #15/102 Holo cards realized over $3,000 each over the course of just a few weeks. Finally, a Lugia, Pokémon (2000) Neo Genesis 1st Edition #9/111 Holo graded CGC 9.5 realized $3,840 on December 4, 2022.
