CSG Scouting Report: Comeback Kings
Posted on 12/21/2022
Holy comebacks, Batman! It was another wild week of football with exciting plot twists up until the end of several games. Who was in on the craziness? The CSG Scouting Report takes a look at the most pivotal players in the most epic turnarounds.
Pivotal Players
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings
Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings seemed to stand no chance at halftime, being down 33-0 to the Indianapolis Colts. However, Cousins was at the helm of the largest comeback in NFL history as the Vikings put up 39 points to complete the epic comeback.
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Dallas Cowboys led by 17 late in the third quarter. That did not deter Trevor Lawrence from throwing for four touchdowns to help his team force overtime and get the victory.
Chandler Jones, Las Vegas Raiders
Chandler Jones inserted himself into what may be one of the wildest endings in NFL history. Tied with no time left, the New England Patriots tried a desperate lateral that ended in disaster as it was picked off by Chandler Jones and taken into the end zone, giving the Raiders the lead and the walk-off win.
Rookie Watch
Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons signal caller didn’t have a stellar day, but it was his first pro start, and it appears the Falcons are looking to see if Ridder is their QB of the future.
Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals rookie tight end has seen his role increase week to week. It may just be a matter of time before he has a large impact in a game for their struggling offense.
