What makes it special? This is a popular way to acquire a rookie card for Patrick Mahomes, whom the Kansas City Chiefs selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He only started one game his rookie season, but was named the starting QB in his second season as he transformed the Chiefs into a perennial Super Bowl contender. Mahomes went on to lead the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years in 2020. Kansas City would go on to win the Lombardi Trophy that season and Patrick Mahomes would take home Super Bowl MVP. At only 27 years old, and only six seasons into his already iconic NFL career, Mahomes and the AFC West-leading Chiefs look poised to make another deep postseason run in the NFL Playoffs.

Did you know? Patrick Mahomes II won the 2018 NFL MVP in only his second season in the league and his first as a starter. Following his team's Super Bowl LIV victory, Mahomes became the youngest quarterback to ever win Super Bowl MVP. Adding to his legendary status at such a young age, Mahomes already holds 11 NFL records.
