CGC Trading Cards Certifies 1/10 Hailee Steinfeld Spider-Verse Card
Posted on 1/26/2023
CGC Trading Cards® recently had the honor of certifying a rare Marvel card autographed by Hailee Steinfeld, the voice actor for Spider-Gwen. The Hailee Steinfeld, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2022) Upper Deck - #SAA-5 Autograph - Achievement received a grade of CGC 8.
Upper Deck’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse trading card set includes 90 cards themed around the movie of the same name. Like other Upper Deck trading card sets, this set includes limited print variants of popular cards, such as artist sketch cards, foil art and autographed cards. This Hailee Steinfeld card is 1/10, meaning only 10 examples were included in the entire set.
Hailee Steinfeld began her acting career at the age of 10, when she played the role of Talia Alden in the 2009 short film She’s a Fox. Her breakthrough came in 2010 when she starred in True Grit as Mattie Ross. Since then, she has been featured in over a dozen TV shows and movies as an actor and voice actor.
Why did CGC Trading Cards use a blue Universal Label?
When certifying autographed cards, CGC Trading Cards may apply a green Qualified Label instead of the typical blue Universal Label. The label that a card is certified with depends on whether the card in question has qualifiers or special considerations.
A green Qualified Label is used by CGC Trading Cards when a card has an unauthorized signature (one that was not witnessed by CGC Trading Cards) or to note a significant defect that requires specification on the label.
In this case, CGC Trading Cards used a blue Universal Label because the signature was included as part of the card at the time of release, and not added later, like in the example below.
A Mickey Mouse, Disney Lorcana (2022) D23 Expo Promo graded CGC 9.5 with an unauthorized signature - an example of a green CGC Trading Cards Qualified label. Click images to enlarge. |
