What makes it special? Coming off several successful college football seasons at Alabama and Oklahoma, Jalen Hurts was picked by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He didn't start right away but showed a glimpse of what was to come late in his rookie season when filling in for the injured Carson Wentz. Hurts would take over under center in his second season as he led the Eagles back to the playoffs behind his 3,144 passing yards, 784 rushing yards and 26 total touchdowns. Philly lost in the Wild Card Round, but the Eagles had clearly built a solid foundation for success with Hurts in charge. At only 24 years old and in only his third season, the dual-threat QB helped the Eagles earn the best record in the NFC as they went 13-3 and locked in homefield advantage for the playoffs. After dominating the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, Hurts and the Eagles will now face Patrick Mahomes II and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII with a chance to lift the Lombardi Trophy. Hurts has already established himself as one of the most talented and exciting young players in the NFL today, but a Super Bowl victory would cement his pro legacy.

Did you know? In Jalen Hurts' first two seasons as a starting quarterback in the NFL, he's led the Eagles to back-to-back playoff appearances. In only his second year as a starter, Hurts helped Philly earn the most regular season wins in the NFC (tied for the best in the NFL with the Chiefs) with a 14-3 record.

Hurts went 14-1 this season since he missed two games due to injury, and that tied a franchise record held by Randall Cunningham. The young QB's exceptional performances this year also earned him his first Pro Bowl selection. Additionally, Hurts has been named as one of the five finalists for this season's NFL MVP Award, which is an amazing accomplishment this early in his career.
