Kirill Kaprizov is a Russian professional ice hockey player that plays left wing for the Minnesota Wild. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, 135th overall. In July 2020, he signed a two-year, entry-level deal with the Wild and played in the 2020-21 season, making his debut on January 14, 2021, against the Los Angeles Kings where he tallied three points, including the game-winning goal in overtime. He became the first player in NHL history to score three points and an overtime goal in his debut. By the end of the 2021-22 season, Kaprizov had set Wild franchise records in each of the major scoring categories with 47 goals, 61 assists and 108 points. Kaprizov also capped off his debut season with the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2021, which is awarded to the NHL's rookie of the year.

Q&A with CSG Registry Set Owner
How did you get into collecting sports cards?
I loved watching sports, playing as well. So, when I graduated from college and was gainfully employed, I started buying them. Also, the local card shop was owned by friends, and it was a great place to hang out and talk sports.
What are your favorite sports teams and/or athletes to follow?
Houston Texans and Astros, yeah, I know. I follow Luka (Doncic) and Kirill (Kaprizov).
What was your favorite card once you got into collecting?
My favorite was the Michal Jordan Fleer Scoring King.
Do you have a different favorite card now?
Before I picked up my new favorite, Upper Deck Premier RPA of Kirill Kaprizov 97/99, it was the 2018 Chronicles Phoenix Blue /99 Luka Doncic.
We’re featuring your Kirill Kaprizov set. What drew you to collecting and building this set?
I got burned out on the overproduction of the other sports and became friends with someone from Minnesota. In our conversations, he talked a lot about Kirill and, after doing a lot of research, I started picking up his stuff as an investment that is now my PC.
Is there a card out there you’re hoping to add to your collection? Similarly, is there a set you hope to complete someday?
I hope to add an Upper Deck Future Watch Auto /999 of Kirill Kaprizov, that will happen. I am not currently working on any sets. It is far more difficult to do so.
What do you enjoy most about adding your cards to the CSG Registry?
Besides the friendly competition with other Kirill collectors, showing off my cards through the Registry is a plus. It also helps other collectors see what is out there.
What would you say to other sports cards collectors who may be on the fence about adding their cards to the CSG Registry?
Not trying to be corny, but "Just Do It!" It does two things. One, it helps the Registry to grow, whereby when others go to insert cards into the system they will already be there, making submitting through CSG easier. Two, it helps to bring to light the CSG brand in a fun way. My friend in Minnesota has submitted cards to CSG because of the excitement I have.
