In 2021, Pokémon celebrated its 25th anniversary, and to commemorate the event, The Pokémon Company released a limited boxed set: The Pokémon TCG: Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection. This set featured reprints of classic Pokémon cards from past series, 25 new cards, collectible items and two commemorative metal cards: Pikachu and Charizard. The metal cards use the design of their Base Set counterparts released in 1999.
CGC Trading Cards recently began grading these metal cards again after a hiatus, during which an encapsulation solution was developed that protects the delicate edges of these metal cards from damage during transit. After an extensive R&D process, CGC Trading Cards implemented the innovative method that is both protective and aesthetically pleasing. To learn more about the holder, click here.
