CGC Cards Grades Stunning Dual-Autographed Card by King James and His Airness at The National
Posted on 8/9/2023
At the recent National Sports Collectors Convention, CGC Cards™ certified an extremely rare card featuring two of the greatest athletes to ever play in the NBA: LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Not only does the card include the images of both NBA champions, but it also features each of the legendary players' hand-signed autograph.
Graded on-site at the show, the 2005-06 Upper Deck Ultimate Dual Signatures #DS-JJ LeBron James/Michael Jordan #'d/25 received a CGC 9, with the autographs graded CGC 10. The card was submitted by entrepreneur and social media personality Gary Vaynerchuk ("Gary Vee"), as indicated by the pedigree on the back of the sleek, new CGC cards certification label.
The superb card from Upper Deck was limited to only 25, making it rare indeed. The horizontal layout adds a unique touch, with a close-up image of James and Jordan's faces at the left side of the card. Each of their signatures stretch out across the card, with James' often-seen "LBJ" autograph on top and Jordan's classic signature with an emphasis on the "MJ" at the bottom.
James is among the few elite NBA players who are part of the greatest of all time conversation. Since making the jump from high school to the pros in 2003, the 6-foot-9-inch, 250-pound forward has not only lived up to the early hype surrounding him as a teenager but surpassed it. As of February 7, 2023, James is now the all-time leading scorer in NBA history, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's decades-long record. As a four-time NBA champion, four-time NBA MVP, 19-time All-Star and all-time leading scorer, he is already a living legend, and he's still playing elite basketball at 38 years old.
Of course, Jordan is well-known by most NBA fans and analysts as the greatest player in NBA history. No other player has ever had the impact on the league as a whole like Jordan did, as he helped turn basketball into a global game in the '90s and transcended the sport with his line of Air Jordan sneakers. Jordan is synonymous with basketball and his legacy still hovers over the league 20 years after officially retiring. His six NBA championships, five NBA MVPs, 14 All-Star selections and numerous other accolades cement Jordan as arguably the greatest player ever.
