Since the 1980s, telephone cards have been issued to consumers for the purpose of making long-distance calls. While some of these telephone cards are standard issues, others have limited-edition print designs that make them collectible. Examples include Disney-themed telephone cards, special sports or Olympics cards and more. Collecting these limited-edition telephone cards has become popular not only in Asia but around the world.

Telephone Card Grading Scale

Due to how telephone cards are printed in China, and their usage requirements, CGC Cards will use a different grading scale to grade telephone cards that are submitted in Shanghai. Click here to view the Telephone Card Grading Scale. For questions regarding the grading scale, please email NGC Shanghai at [email protected].

Please note: CGC Cards will only accept unused Chinese generic magnetic telephone cards for grading. Any used magnetic telephone cards will be returned to sender ungraded.

For serial number attribution on the CGC Cards label, please follow these instructions:

Attributing Serial Numbers

If you would like a telephone card's serial number to be attributed on the CGC Cards label, you must write the number clearly on your printed packing slip; for example: ADD ATTRIBUTION 111188885555. Also, write the serial number on a sticker and gently adhere the sticker to the card’s penny sleeve. If you do not want a serial number attribution, write DO NOT ATTRIBUTE on the packing slip.

The fee for serial number attributions is an additional 20 RMB plus VAT. If CGC Cards is unable to read or verify the serial number, the fee will still apply.
