CGC Cards Grades 1/1 Carrie Fisher Autograph Card from 2022 Topps Star Wars Set

Posted on 8/8/2024

This is the first autographed 1/1 Superfractor from the 2022 Topps Chrome Black Star Wars set to be certified by CGC Cards, according to the CGC Cards Population Report.

That’s no moon — it’s a one-of-a-kind Star Wars trading card! CGC Cards™ recently had the opportunity to grade a 1/1 Topps SuperFractor card featuring an autograph from Carrie Fisher, the iconic actress who played Princess Leia Organa in several Star Wars films. The Carrie Fisher, Chrome Black Star Wars (2022) Topps - #AB-CF Autograph SuperFractor received a grade of CGC Gem Mint 10, with an autograph grade of 10.

As of August 2024, this Carrie Fisher (2022) Autograph Superfractor 1/1 card is the only B Design Superfractor card from the 2022 Topps set graded by CGC Cards, according to the CGC Cards Population Report.

Like most Topps Chrome sets, the 2022 Star Wars set included two subsets of autographed cards, each featuring popular characters from the Star Wars series. The two subsets included A Design, which includes normal autographed refractor cards, and B Design, which features a special rainbow refractor pattern on the card. While both A Design and B Design autographed cards are numbered 1/1, B Design cards are significantly harder to pull from hobby boxes — collectors have a measly 1:660 chance of pulling a B Design autograph card. That makes this Carrie Fisher card very rare, indeed!

Besides the card’s rarity, Carrie Fisher is the most celebrated actress in the Star Wars series. Her portrayal of Princess Leia in the original Star Wars films made her a pop culture icon in the 1980s, resulting in several long-lasting trends (such as the “cinnamon bun” hairstyle) and a revamp of how feminine characters are portrayed in the film industry. For her portrayal of Leia, Fisher was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Actress for Star Wars and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and for Best Supporting Actress for The Force Awakens and, posthumously, The Last Jedi. (Fisher passed away in 2016; her signature on the card is from the Topps Autograph Archive.)

“Princess Leia is one of the most well-known female characters in the pop culture industry,” said Matt Quinn, Vice President of CGC Cards. “This 1/1 Topps card is extremely special, and it is sure to be the highlight of any Star Wars fan’s collection.”
