CGC Launches Signature Series for Sports Collectibles with Pete Rose Gold and Silver Cards

A first-of-its-kind collectible featuring legendary Cincinnati Reds star Pete Rose is being released on August 23, and Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) has given them the distinction of being the first sports collectible to be certified with the coveted CGC Signature Series label. The MLB all-time hits leader teamed up with Celebrity Mint to launch the Pete Rose Legends Series of limited edition legal tender collectibles, which include gold and silver coins reimagined as trading cards.

Bringing sports cards and rare coins together in one collectible, each Pete Rose card is a legal tender collectible with intrinsic value. The series includes 1,000 Silver trading coins, 500 Gold trading coins and 150 Cosmic Slide and Nebulous "Mint Hits," with a total of 300 CGC Signature Series autographs in the collection.

On August 23, the Pete Rose Legends Series will be available for purchase at CelebrityMint.com. Collectors will have the opportunity to purchase a Silver ($74.99) or Gold ($174.99) legal tender trading card coin that comes in a sealed Celebrity Mint pack. Each pack will contain a Base, Chase Red Refractor or Cosmos Mint Hit (Cosmic Slide or Nebulous).

Cosmos Mint Hits are the newest addition to Celebrity Mint’s Legends Series. Available in two variants, Cosmic Slide and Nebulous, the ultra-rare coin cards commemorate Rose’s famous headfirst slide. Each legal tender is autographed by Rose and includes various inscriptions, which list the iconic MLB player's career milestones, like "1973 MVP," "3x WS Champ" and "4256 Hit King." The series also includes a pair of highly coveted one-of-one collectibles: one in Gold and one in Silver. All 150 Cosmos Mint Hits are CGC Signature Series certified.
