CGC-certified 1-of-1 Shohei Ohtani SuperFractor Realizes $13,800 in November Fanatics Collect Auctions
Posted on 12/5/2024
An extremely rare SuperFractor of internationally renowned MLB star Shohei Ohtani that is certified by CGC Cards™ realized nearly $14,000 in Fanatics Collect’s November Premier Auction, securing the ninth-highest price of CGC-certified sports cards that have sold on the auction platform. The rarity was just one of the thousands of CGC-certified TCGs, sports cards and non-sports cards that were sold through the Fanatics Collect marketplace in November 2024.
A 2024 Topps Update '89 Silver Pack Autographs #T89CU-SO Shohei Ohtani - SuperFractor certified CGC Authentic realized $13,800 on November 21. The coveted one-of-one SuperFractor is the only one in existence, making it a true sports card rarity, and a valuable one at that. Coming off back-to-back MVP Award-winning seasons, Ohtani has now earned a total of three of the prestigious awards. He also won his first World Series to complete his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ohtani is the hottest commodity in baseball and his cards are some of the most sought-after in the hobby, so it's no surprise this rare parallel commanded a premium.
Meanwhile, hundreds of CGC-certified TCGs and non-sports cards were also sold through Fanatics Collects in November, with the top highlight being a Lugia, Pokémon Topps (2000) Pokémon The Movie: 2000 – 1 Hologram – First Appearance graded CGC 9.5 that realized $8,400 on November 21. Unlike other Pokémon, Lugia was originally conceptualized as an exclusive character for the movie and was never intended to be featured in the games. Lugia’s appearance shocked and elated fans, prompting Game Freak staff to choose Lugia as the mascot for Pokémon Silver after noticing the Pokémon’s rising popularity.
