CGC Cards™ is thrilled to announce that the Signature Series team will be hosting an exclusive In-House Private Signing event with influential comic book creators Frank Miller and Chris Claremont! Both gentlemen are legends in the comic industry for their exemplary work in the medium. Their work on series like Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and Uncanny X-Men set the bar generations and helped mold the future of the characters in the stories.
For this signing, submitters can also send in comic books, which CGC Comics will encapsulate with our distinctive yellow CGC Signature Series Label. (For instructions on how to submit comic books for this signing, click here.)
Over the course of his incredible career, Miller has made a powerful impact on the comic book community, working for a variety of major publishers such as Gold Key, DC and Marvel. He is perhaps best known for reimagining Batman as a dark and brooding hero in The Dark Knight Returns saga. In addition, he has worked on some of the industry's other top titles including Daredevil, Ronin, SinCity and 300. Miller recently illustrated Cursed, a novel that is now an original Netflix series. In 2015, Miller was inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame for his contributions to the comic industry.
Claremont has had a celebrated career in comics thanks to his time at Marvel where he wrote issues of Uncanny X-Men from 1975-1991. Credited with developing strong female characters and interweaving literary themes into comics, Claremont is a legend in the comic world. He has been inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame, is a recipient of the Harvey Lifetime Achievement Award, the Yellow Kid Award, the Angouleme Grand Prix Award and many more. He also holds the record for best-selling comic book of all time for his work on X-Men #1.
Claremont began his career in comics at Marvel Comics as an editorial assistant. His first assignment was on Daredevil. Since then, he has gone on to write extremely important X-Men stories including, The Dark Phoenix Saga and God Loves, Man Kills. Claremont is also the co-creator of fan favorite characters such as Rogue, Gambit, Shadowcat, Mystique, Sabertooth and many more. He has also been published by Dark Horse, Image and DC Comics. Most recently Marvel published Wolverine: Deep Cut (art by Edgar Salazar). And the first issue of a new five issue mini-series, Wolverine & Kitty Pryde will debut on April 30 (art by Damian Couceiro). It’s the follow-on to the classic Wolverine & Kitty Pryde miniseries. Now’s the time to get those classic issues signed!
