CGC Certifies Pair of One-of-One Autographed Logoman Cards of NBA Stars
Posted on 5/6/2025
There are few modern basketball cards that are more sought-after than Logoman cards. Most of the Logoman issues are serial numbered to only one card ever made, making them one of the rarest and most desirable basketball cards of each season. Recently, a submitter entrusted CGC® to certify and grade a pair of these rarities, as one-of-one autographed Logoman cards of NBA stars Anthony Davis and Cade Cunningham passed through the grading room.
The first of the pair is a 2021-22 Panini Flawless Logoman Autographs #LMA-ATD Anthony Davis graded CGC 9, with an autograph graded CGC 10. One of the key contributors to the Los Angeles Lakers' 2019-20 championship-winning team alongside LeBron James, Davis has been one of the NBA's best big men since he entered the league in 2012. Although he has struggled with injuries at times, few big men are as productive on both sides of the floor when he plays.
Most recently, Davis was involved in the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade, which saw Davis head to the Dallas Mavericks as part of one of the NBA's biggest midseason trades ever. However, this particular Logoman of the former Kentucky Wildcat captures him during his time in Los Angeles and prominently features an NBA patch from his jersey and an autograph just below it.
To make the card even more special, the NBA celebrated its 75th anniversary during the 2021-22 season. Not only does the Logoman patch include a "75" that references the NBA's anniversary, but Davis was also honored as one of the greatest 75 players to ever grace the league as part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
The second card submitted is a 2022 Panini National Treasures Blockchain Logoman Autographs #LA-CC Cade Cunningham graded CGC 8.5, with an autograph graded CGC 10. The No. 1 overall pick by the Detroit Pistons in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cunningham immediately became the face of his franchise. Detroit had been perennial bottom dwellers for several years and hadn't won a single playoff game in almost two decades, but Cunningham and a young core of new talent around him have breathed fresh life into the Pistons.
This season, Cunningham led the Pistons to a winning record, earning the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. He was also one of the most consistent scorers in the league, averaging 26.1 points per game, which was good enough to finish as the seventh-highest scorer. For his efforts, Cunningham earned his first All-Star selection in 2025. The future looks bright in Detroit and that has carried over to his collectibles, as well, with collectors chasing coveted cards like this Logoman issue that also features a special "NBA 75" patch logo, celebrating the league's 75th anniversary.
Many collectors consider Logoman cards to be the holy grail of modern basketball card collecting since they first released in the early 2000s. The 2003-2004 Upper Deck Exquisite set originally popularized the cards with a small but superb offering of only three dual Logoman cards that included a Kobe Bryant/Michael Jordan Logoman, a Kobe Bryant/LeBron James Logoman and a LeBron James/Michael Jordan Logoman. Ever since, collectors have chased the handful of Logoman issues that release each year in hopes of acquiring one of the rarities.
Upper Deck stopped making basketball cards in 2009 when Panini took over the license to exclusively produce NBA cards. Since then, collectors have looked to high-end sets like Flawless, Immaculate and National Treasures to chase their favorite Logoman cards. The cards come in three types: single, dual or triple Logoman cards. What's better than one Logoman-patched card? Two (or even three) Logoman patches on the same card!
Each serial numbered card features the entire NBA logo, removed from each player's jersey. Many also include the player's signature, making for the ultimate basketball collectible. In fact, some of the most expensive cards of all time have been Logoman issues, with several joining lists of some of the most valuable cards ever sold. Legendary players with Logoman cards, like Jordan or Bryant, have sold for millions of dollars, and even current All-Stars like Davis and Cunningham can sell for upward of tens of thousands of dollars. When it comes to modern basketball cards, the Logoman reigns supreme.
