CGC-authenticated Carlos Alcaraz Tennis Card Breaks Record in June Fanatics Collect Auctions
Posted on 7/8/2025
A record-breaking tennis card that is certified by CGC Cards™ recently sold for six figures in the Fanatics Fest June Premier Auction. The rarity was just one of the thousands of CGC-certified sports cards, TCGs and non-sports cards that were sold through the Fanatics Collect marketplace in June 2025.
A 2024 Topps Royalty Racket Knob Autograph Relics #RKA-CA Carlos Alcaraz certified CGC Authentic realized $222,000 on June 26. Not only did the result break the previous record for the most expensive men's tennis card ever sold, but it also is now the most expensive CGC-certified sports card ever sold on Fanatics Collect. The one-of-one rarity of the 22-year-old Spanish tennis champion has several desirable features on the card. It is serial numbered to only one ever made, includes a relic of Alcaraz's match-used tennis racket knob from the 2024 Indian Wells Open, an on-card signature in blue ink and an inscription that reads, "2024 Indian Wells Champ."
With direct ties to Alcaraz's 2024 Indian Wells Open men's singles title, the card is a truly unique collectible forever attached to one of his many championships. Previously ranked No. 1 in the world (currently No. 2), Alcaraz has already won 21 ATP Tour-level singles titles, which are highlighted by his five major titles won at the US Open (1), Wimbledon (2) and the French Open (2).
Another sports highlight from June's Fanatics Collect sales is a coveted one-of-one Logoman card of the NBA's all-time leading scorer. A 2022-23 Panini Immaculate Collection Logoman #ICL-LJL LeBron James certified CGC Authentic realized $72,000 on June 26, making it one of the most expensive sports cards ever sold on the platform. One of the most sought-after parallels in the hobby, collectors chase Logoman cards for their rarity and value, especially coveted Logoman cards of future first-ballot Hall of Famers like James. Embedded into the card is a patch that features the NBA logo from James' game-worn Lakers jersey, giving one lucky collector a piece of memorabilia that is forever tied to his legendary NBA career.
Meanwhile, hundreds of CGC-certified TCGs and non-sports cards were sold through Fanatics Collect in June as well, with the top highlight being a rare test print Pokémon card. A Blastoise, Pokémon (1998) Test Print (Gold Border) – 009/165R Foil – MTG Back graded CGC 6.5 realized $45,600 on June 26. Created by Wizards of the Coast as a test print to see how Pokémon cards would look during their development, this Blastoise card has a Magic: The Gathering backing — a rarity not normally seen. As of early July 2025, CGC Cards had only certified five of these Test Print Blastoise cards, according to the CGC Cards Population Report. To read more about Test Print Blastoise, click here.
Additionally, a Torchic Gold Star, Pokémon (2004) EX Team Rocket Returns Holo graded CGC Gem Mint 10 realized $14,000 on June 2. Torchic was one of the first Gold Star cards to be released in the Pokémon TCG. It was introduced in EX Team Rocket Returns alongside the other two Generation III starters, Treecko and Mudkip. Torchic commands a premium over the other two Gold Star cards, as evidenced by this sale.
