CGC-certified Pokémon Cards Shine in Landry Pop Auction
Posted on 8/26/2025
Two highly desirable CGC-certified Pokémon promo cards turned heads in a recent Landry Pop auction, resulting in impressive prices that led a group of hundreds of CGC-certified Pokémon cards. Bidding in Landry Pop’s Evolution: 25+ Years of Pokémon Grails auction ended on August 18, 2025.
A No. 1 Trainer, Pokémon (2010) Pokémon World Championships Holo graded CGC 8 (lot 153) realized $54,900 — the highest-selling card in the sale. No. 1 Trainer cards are given to the first-place winners of each division at the Pokémon World Championships every year. This 2010 No. 1 Trainer was given out at the 2010 championship competition, which was hosted in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii. Like other No. 1 Trainers, these cards are extremely limited and are some of the rarest cards in the entire Pokémon TCG.
Additionally, an Ishihara GX, Pokémon (2017) Black Star Promos – TPCi01 60th Birthday Party Giveaway graded CGC Gem Mint 10 (lot 226) realized an impressive $42,700. Tsunekazu Ishihara, the president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, celebrated his 60th birthday on August 26, 2018. He invited family, friends and employees of The Pokémon Company to a birthday celebration, where these exclusive promo cards were given out to attendees. The card features Ishihara as a playable character, and although the card isn’t legal in tournaments, it is still a highly collectible card.
Other notable CGC-certified cards in the auction included these lots, which all exceeded their pre-auction estimates:
