Ten Terrific CGC-certified Cards of 2024 World Series MVP Freddie Freeman

Posted on 10/9/2025

After last year's World Series heroics, Freeman and the Dodgers are pushing for back-to-back titles this postseason.

As one of the greatest hitters and first basemen of his generation, Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman has already had a storied career, which began with the Atlanta Braves when he made his MLB debut in 2010. Since then, he's won basically every individual and team award possible in the majors, with few other players in the league matching or exceeding his baseball resume. Yet at 36 years old, Freeman is still chasing history, hoping to add more awards to his already stacked trophy cabinet, as the Dodgers seek back-to-back World Series championships for the first time in franchise history.

A Canadian-American who was born and raised in California, Freeman spent the first 12 seasons of his illustrious career in Atlanta. He was called up by the Braves late in the 2010 season, playing in only 20 games that year before being elevated as the starting first baseman for the 2011 season. After a slow start to his second season, Freeman began to find his groove and became one of the best young players in the pros, finishing second in NL Rookie of the Year voting.

Season after season, he continued to progress, with the Braves re-signing Freeman to an eight-year, $135 million extension in February 2014. Although Atlanta struggled for several seasons, their first baseman held his own, consistently playing well at his position and at the plate. Freeman stood by his team throughout their struggles and, in 2021, it paid off. Freeman and his Braves teammates made a memorable run in the playoffs, with the first baseman coming up clutch on several occasions on their way to the franchise's first World Series title since 1995.

In the offseason, Freeman returned home to California and signed with the Dodgers for a six-year deal. A few seasons later, in 2024, a stacked lineup that included Freeman, Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and others led the Dodgers to their eighth World Series title behind the heroics of their first baseman, who also won the World Series MVP Award.

In what is now one of the most famous hits in World Series history, Freeman booted the first-ever walk-off grand slam in Game 1. He then proceeded to hit home runs in Game 2, 3 and 4, making Freeman the first player to ever homer in the first four games of a World Series. By the end of the series, his 12 total RBIs set a franchise record and tied the World Series record that has stood since 1960. Now, the Dodgers are back in the playoffs and hoping to make history again by winning two straight World Series titles.

Before Freddie Freeman even made his MLB debut, and while he was still just a teenager, he was selected to play for the USA Baseball Junior National Team. Not only is this card one of the earliest of his baseball career at any level, but it is also one of the earliest autographed cards of Freeman's iconic career. In addition, these early cards are some of the only examples that include his full signature from when he used to spell out his entire first and last name.

Bowman's 1st Bowman issues are a popular collectible linked to MLB players' earliest years in the pros. As a prospects card, this example is tied to Freeman's days with Atlanta's minor league teams, as he played for the Gulf Coast Braves in 2007 and the Rome Braves in 2008. The card features a facsimile signature but is the Gold parallel version, making for a rarer and more valuable collectible than its base counterpart.

Freeman made his MLB debut late in the season in early September 2010, so this other Bowman set featuring MLB prospects includes one of his earliest autographs as a pro. The horizontal Blue Refractor serial-numbered to only 99 copies made also features his signature in blue ink, which even in 2010 had already been reduced to a closer version of his current signature that basically resembles prominent first and last initials.

Another Blue Refractor from Bowman, in this case serial-numbered to 250, this is one of Freeman's earliest official rookie cards on chrome cardstock. From the 2011 Bowman set, this is a true rookie card from the first baseman's first full season as a starting position player with the Braves. It features a large on-card autograph that fits prominently across the bottom of the card.
