Hake's Offers CGC-certified Vintage Mickey Mouse Cards From the 1930s
Posted on 11/5/2025
Two sets of vintage trading cards from the 1930s, including some of the earliest Mickey Mouse cards available to collectors, are being offered in an ongoing Hake’s auction. These vintage relics are just some of the CGC-certified cards being offered in Hake’s Auction #245 Session 2, which is set to end on November 19, 2025.
A complete set of 15 Spanish c. 1930 Evaristo Juncosa, Mickey En La Casa de los Duendes Series B cards is the top highlight in the sale. Issued in Barcelona, these early cards depict stills of Mickey in “The Haunted House,” a short Disney cartoon — directed and voiced by Walt Disney himself — that first aired in late 1929. The 14th Mickey Mouse film, it was released a little more than a year after the November 1928 debut of the character in "Steamboat Willie." This set of cards was distributed by Evaristo Juncosa, a candy company based in Barcelona that partnered with various sports and cartoon companies to put gum and candy cards in their products. Each of the 15 cards in the set is certified by CGC and graded CGC 2.5 through CGC 5.
A second set of 15 cards from Evaristo Juncosa — this one featuring Felix the Cat — is also being offered in the Hake’s sale. The Spanish c. 1930 Evaristo Juncosa Felix Globetrotter Series A cards are similar to Mickey’s set, with Felix’s 15-card set based on a 1923 short revolving around a boxing kangaroo. The fronts of the cards feature black-and-white illustrations from the short cartoon, while the backs offer text describing the scene and Evaristo Juncosa’s “Chocolates Selectos” company imprint. Each card is graded CGC 1.5 through CGC 4.5.
Finally, a complete subset of 24 1936 R28 Cartoon Adventures cards featuring Buck Rogers is being offered alongside the Disney cards. Featuring the science fiction adventure hero from Philip Francis Nowlan’s comic strip, these cards show fun full-color cartoon artwork.
