Pokémon Cards Certified by CGC Realize High Prices in February Goldin Sale
Posted on 3/13/2026
A complete set of CGC-certified 2014 Pokémon World Championships promo cards realized more than $380,000 in a recent Goldin auction. The set was among more than 80 CGC-certified cards that were offered in Goldin’s 2026 Pokémon & TCG Auction, which ended on February 15, 2026.
The complete set of four No. 1-4 Trainers, Pokémon (2014) Pokémon World Championships promos, with the No. 3 Trainer graded CGC Pristine 10 and the others graded CGC Gem Mint 10 (lot 7) realized an impressive $384,400. It’s easy to see why: Just one of these numbered Trainer promos is considered a holy grail in Pokémon collecting, but compiling a full set of them is incredibly difficult. Not only that, but the No. 3 Trainer is graded CGC Pristine 10, the highest-graded example of its kind, according to the CGC Cards Population Report.
Many other CGC-certified Pokémon cards realized high prices in the auction, including several that sold for either six figures or high five-figure prices. As CGC-certified cards continue to break records at auction, these high prices further reinforce the trust that collectors have in CGC’s third-party grading services to help their collections realize their full potential.
Other CGC-certified highlights in the auction included:
- a Torchic Gold Star, Pokémon (2004) EX Team Rocket Returns graded CGC Gem Mint 10 (lot 206) that realized $117,800
- a Charizard, Pokémon (1999) Base Set 1st Edition Holo graded CGC Gem Mint 10 (lot 23) that realized $105,400
