Card: #201 Christian Pulisic

What makes it special? Widely considered one of the best American soccer players of all time, winger/attacker Christian Pulisic has become the face of modern soccer in the US. Nicknamed "Captain America," he moved to Germany as a teenager and signed for club Borussia Dortmund at just 17 years old. Pulisic helped Dortmund's youth team win the Under-17 Bundesliga title in 2014-15 before being promoted and leading the Under-19 team to the Bundesliga title in 2015-16.

Soon after, Pulisic made his first team debut for Dortmund in January 2016 and received his first start just a month later. He would go on to break multiple club records, becoming the youngest player in Dortmund's history (at the time) to play in the UEFA Champions League at only 17 years old. A few months later, Pulisic scored his first UCL goal, making him Dortmund's youngest-ever Champions League scorer at 18 years old.

English club Chelsea signed Pulisic for an estimated £58 million transfer fee in January 2019. He would spend the next few years in London, winning the biggest club tournament in the world when Chelsea came out victorious in the 2020-21 UCL Final. During the championship game, Pulisic became the first US men’s national team player to both play in and win a Champions League final. After an injury-plagued stint at Chelsea, the American signed with Italian club AC Milan, re-energizing his career. Since joining the club, he's had multiple personal best seasons, culminating in a 2024-25 performance that saw him finish the season as AC Milan's top scorer with 17 goals and 10 assists across all competitions.

Now, the US Men's National Soccer Team is gearing up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, being hosted in North America in the US, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Pulisic is hoping to lead Team USA further than ever before in the biggest international soccer tournament in the world, which takes place every four years. The captain of the national team, Pulisic first played in the 2018 World Cup before missing the 2022 event because of injury. After a lingering hamstring issue in late 2025, the 27-year-old is healthy and will play a vital role once again, leading the charge for Team USA on their home turf.

Did you know? Christian Pulisic is among the most decorated American soccer players in history. He still holds the Dortmund UEFA Champions League record for youngest goal scorer, is only the second American to ever win the UCL title (first to play in and win it), and is the first American to ever score in a UCL Final. In 2021, he won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea, as well. During the 2024-25 season, Pulisic won the Supercoppa Italiana with AC Milan and was one of the top goal scorers and assisters in Serie A last season.

As for his national team career, Pulisic is the youngest player to ever captain Team USA, first wearing the captain's badge at only 20 years old. He won the 2016 Young Male Player of the Year Award before winning the US Soccer Male Player of the Year Award four times (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023), tying Landon Donovan for the most in national team history. The winger has also won the CONCACAF Nations League three times (2021, 2023, 2024) and was named Best Player of the 2022-23 CONCACAF Nations League. Still only 27 years old, by the time he retires from his playing career, Pulisic could have a strong argument for being America's greatest soccer player ever.
