CGC Cards Hot List: Top 5 Ninja Spinner Pokémon Cards
Posted on 6/11/2026
The latest Pokémon TCG set to release in North America is Chaos Rising, a set that continues the theming around Pokémon Legends: Z-A and introduces more Mega Evolution ex cards, including heavy-hitters like Mega Greninja ex and Mega Floette ex. The set includes many cards from Japan’s Ninja Spinner set, which was released on March 13, 2026. Ninja Spinner has been incredibly popular among collectors, and many have sent their pulls to CGC to be authenticated, graded, and encapsulated.
Here are the top five most-submitted cards from the Pokémon TCG’s Ninja Spinner set during the month of May:
CGC Cards’ Hot List: Top 5 Ninja Spinner Cards
Mega Greninja ex (Special Art Rare) – 114/083
Mega Greninja ex is the undisputed star of Ninja Spinner — just look, the set is named after Gre-“ninja” and its massive spinning ninja star! Because of this, the frog-like Pokémon received its own Special Art Rare, and it is absolutely beautiful. Illustrator Susumu Maeya paints Mega Greninja riding upside down on its ninja star above a body of water. Mixes of orange, blue, pink, and purple highlight the swirling water, complete with bubbles and a beautiful sunset.
This card is in demand with both collectors and players. Mega Greninja ex’s monstrous ability, Mortal Shuriken, makes this card an absolute monster in Water-type decks, while the artwork is too pretty to pass up in many full-art collections. CGC has certified more than 230 examples of Mega Greninja ex, according to the CGC Cards Population Report.
Ampharos – 088/083
Ampharos is a reliable Electric-type Pokémon that has carried many teams through Johto and beyond. When it is Mega Evolved, Mega Ampharos turns into an Electric and Dragon-type Pokémon, throwing off its opponents. This is the first time Ampharos has been given an art rare in the TCG, and it does not disappoint — saino misaki depicts Ampharos in a field of flowers and walking along a fence line, complete with vibrant colors and beautiful scenery. If you’re a fan of Ampharos or its evolution line, this card is a must-have for your collection.
Xerneas – 089/083
This Xerneas Special Art Rare may look beautiful, but it’s also a powerful TCG card when used correctly. Its sole attack, Geo Storm, can destroy an opponent’s active Pokémon. Geo Storm does 30 damage for every Psychic energy attached to the player’s active Pokémon — all of them; a player can have up to six Pokémon on their field at a time, which is a lot of potential damage! CGC has certified more than 220 examples of Xerneas from Ninja Spinner, according to the CGC Cards Population Report.
Froakie – 086/083
Another illustration by Susumu Maeya, Froakie (Greninja’s first evolutionary stage) shows off its aquatic nature in this artwork. The baby frog keeps an eye on the surface from underneath the waves, hovering in a shallow pool of crystal-clear water, rocks, and reeds. Froakie’s Collect ability is a great starting strategy for decks, too. By attaching just one energy, players can draw an extra card each turn, speeding up their ability to prepare strategies and get the cards they need to steamroll their opponents.
Mega Greninja ex – 022/083
Although Mega Greninja ex has a Special Art Rare in Ninja Spinner, many who purchased the set’s products instead walked away with this Mega Greninja ex holo because it is more common than the Special Art Rare variant. The double rare variant is still a beautiful card, and it still allows access to Mega Greninja ex’s amazing ability, Mortal Shuriken. Mortal Shuriken allows players to discard a Basic Water Energy card from their hand, if Mega Greninja ex is in their active spot. If they do, they can place six damage counters (each equivalent to 10 damage) on one of their opponents’ Pokémon. That’s a free 60 damage every single turn — and that’s before Mega Greninja ex unleashes its signature attack, Ninja Spinner, which hits for another 120+ damage!
