CSG Announces Updates to Services and Fees
Posted on 4/21/2021
Submissions to Certified Sports Guaranty™ (CSG™) have grown quickly since the company launched in mid-February. In recent weeks, new dynamics in the market have caused CSG’s submission volumes to grow even more rapidly — almost exponentially in a matter of days. CSG is excited to meet this incredible demand and provide its services to collectors and dealers seeking another option for sports card grading.
CSG is aware that submitters are frustrated about longer turnaround times, but the caliber of our expert services must be maintained. CSG is committed to providing the highest quality services as well as reasonable and transparent turnaround times, and we are working hard to meet this goal.
Already, CSG — as part of the Certified Collectibles Group® (CCG®) — has taken a number of steps to increase output and capacity. We have hired more than 70 new employees in the last three months, purchased an additional 21,000 square feet of space, implemented comprehensive training programs, brought in efficiency consultants and worked thousands of hours of overtime. We have increased incentives to motivate and reward our employees and to attract new talent.
In this fast-growing and highly competitive industry, CSG is paying the most competitive salaries to attract the best talent. We are also investing in the latest technology and equipment that help ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the grading process.
To support these and other efforts, as well as to better reflect the current state of the market, CSG is updating its services and fees, effective April 28, 2021. The new fees apply to all CSG Online Submission Forms completed as of that date. Submission forms completed before April 28, 2021, must be delivered to CSG’s facility by May 28, 2021, to qualify for the old pricing.
We know that many collectors and dealers have speculated that CSG would raise fees, or even limit submissions. CSG has no plans to limit submissions, but we have determined that a reasonable increase to our fees is appropriate and necessary.
Even with this price increase, CSG still offers the most advantageous fees in the sports card certification industry. We are honored that so many collectors and dealers are trusting their sports cards to CSG, and we look forward to continuing to provide best-in-class services that benefit the hobby.
