CSG-certified Erling Haaland Card 'Pristine' Like the Soccer Star's Recent Performances

Erling Haaland made a huge splash in the Bundesliga when he came off the bench in the second half of an away game against FC Augsburg and proceeded to score a hat trick within 23 minutes. He is quickly becoming the face of a younger generation of international players.

Certified Sports Guaranty™ (CSG®) graded this 2020 Topps Now #44 Erling Haaland a Pristine 10, with sub-grades of 10 for Centering, Corners and Edges. A sub-grade of 9.5 for the Surface is the only thing that kept this card from receiving the prestigious “Perfect 10” grade.

Topps Now offers glimpse into the Bundesliga season

The Topps Now Bundesliga set features players and events from recent matches with a limited-time purchase window and limited print runs. According to Topps, “TOPPS NOW® celebrates the greatest moments in Sports and Entertainment... as they happen!”

The card’s title “Golden Boy Hits Four” refers to two things. Before this match, Haaland was awarded the Golden Boy award. This annual award is presented to the best footballer under the age of 21. Previous winners of the award include Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.

The four refers to the four goals that Haaland scored against Hertha Berlin SC. Dortmund was down 1-0 at half. Two minutes into the second half Haaland scored a goal to bring the game level and then scored two more goals in quick succession, completing a hat trick in 15 minutes. He finished his golden day with a goal in the 79th minute.

Graded Haaland cards are on the rise

Other examples of CSG-graded Erling Haaland cards include a Topps Finest UEFA Champions League Prized Footballers insert and a Topps Chrome UEFA Champions League Speckle parallel. Both cards are graded a Gem Mint 9.5.

The Prized Footballers insert received sub-grades of 9 for Centering and 9.5 for Corners, Edges, and Surface. The Topps Chrome Speckle parallel received sub-grades of 9.5 for Centering, Edges, and Surface; the Corners were graded 10. Given the short amount of time that Haaland spent with Red Bull Salzburg these cards tend to carry a premium because of their low print quantity.

In four matches this season, Haaland has five goals on 22 shots and three assists. Rumors about a potential transfer are circulating, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City named as possible destinations. All signs point to an exciting season with Borussia Dortmund in the meantime.
