Herbert Rookie Card Patch/Auto Combo Takes the CSG Thick Holder

In modern sports card collecting, one of the most anticipated releases is the Panini National Treasures Football set. The set is popular with collectors due to the large quantity of autographed and memorabilia cards it contains. As patch cards and booklets have grown in popularity, the National Treasures set seeks to push the envelope with each new release.
Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG™) recently graded a 2020 Panini National Treasures Rookie Patch Autographs #158 Justin Herbert. Numbered 40 of 99, this Herbert rookie card features a four-color patch as well as a blue ink autograph. Patch cards with more colors are highly sought after by collectors, along with logos, letters and tags.
CSG graded the #158 Justin Herbert a CSG 9.5, with “quad” sub-grades of 9.5. “Quad” sub-grades means that all four sub-grades (Centering, Corners, Edges and Surface) are equal. The card also earned a grade of CSG 10 for the autograph.
Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Justin Herbert attended the University of Oregon, also in Eugene. During his college career, he passed for 10,541 yards and notched 95 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing touchdowns. He was drafted in the first round (sixth overall) by the San Diego Chargers. In his first year with the Chargers, Herbert was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after throwing for 4,336 passing yards and 31 touchdowns.
CSG adds to its depth chart with Thick Holder
Thanks to the CSG Thick Holder, collectors can now choose to have thicker collectibles like Panini National Treasures cards certified and encapsulated by CSG. The well sizes in the new CSG Thick Holders come in three depths — 3.5 mm, 5.5 mm and 7.25 mm — to accommodate more sizes of thick cards than any other third-party grading service.
