CGC Trading Cards Grades 1 Million Cards!

In less than 18 months, CGC Trading Cards achieved the important milestone, with a Pokémon Scyther card graded CGC Pristine 10.

CGC Trading Cards™ is excited to announce that it has now graded more than 1 million trading cards! The lucky one-millionth card is a (1998) Japanese Pokémon Scyther card graded CGC Pristine 10. It took less than 18 months for CGC Trading Cards to achieve this important milestone, demonstrating how quickly collectors and dealers embraced its expert authentication, grading and encapsulation services.

Trading cards have become an incredibly popular collectibles category. The world-class experts at CGC Trading Cards use innovative technology to authenticate and grade cards as well as superior, state-of-the-art holders to protect and display them. The value of CGC Trading Cards services has already been repeatedly reflected in prices realized.

Since launching in July 2020, CGC Trading Cards has certified many amazing cards. These include a Test Print Blastoise that was created in 1998 as Wizards of the Coast (WotC) prepared to create English Pokémon cards. Following certification by CGC Trading Cards, this rare card realized $360,000 at a Heritage Auctions sale in January 2021 — a record for an English Pokémon card. (To learn more, click here.)

CGC Trading Cards has also certified an incredibly rare Japanese Pokémon Illustrator card. Only 39 of these cards were released in 1998 as prizes for three illustration contests announced in a Japanese publication. Due to the card’s rarity and value, CGC Trading Cards conducted extensive tests to ensure its authenticity. (To learn more, click here.)

Another rare card certified by CGC Trading Cards is a (2000) Lucky Stadium Japanese Unnumbered Promo. This Pokémon card was printed for the Tropical Mega Battle tournaments that took place in Hawaii from 1999 to 2001. It realized $32,000 at a Heritage Auctions sale in November 2021. CGC also recently certified five extremely rare Heroes of the Realm Cards from Magic: The Gathering. These commemorative cards are printed in extremely limited numbers to honor the outstanding performance of WotC teams. CGC Trading Cards recently announced the expansion of its certification services to 11 additional games, including Digimon (2020 – present), Dragon Ball Super, Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem Cipher, Flesh and Blood, Force of Will, Harry Potter, MetaZoo, My Hero Academia, Weiss Schwarz and World of Warcraft.
