CertifiedLink Offers Over 70 CSG-certified Cards in February Sale
Posted on 1/27/2022
Two Baseball Hall of Famers lead a strong group of cards graded by Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®) in an upcoming CertifiedLink auction. Bidding is currently underway and concludes on February 10, 2022.
A rare 1933 DeLong #7 Lou Gehrig graded CSG 1 leads the parade of highlights in the sale. Hard to find in any condition, the card features a larger-than-life Gehrig at bat in the middle of a very colorful, almost cartoon-like stadium.
1933 was actually a below average year for Gehrig, despite how his stat line looks: hits .334 with 32 homeruns, 138 runs scored and 139 RBIs that season. Statistically, it was Gehrig’s ninth best season of his career.
Another highly sought-after card in the auction is this 1941 Play Ball #14 Ted Williams graded CSG 4.5. Williams is featured against an orange background and white border, with his name along the bottom of the card. Frequently, the coloring on these cards can appear lighter than normal, and centering issues plague many of the cards as well.
1941 was one of the best seasons that Williams ever had, and it has since become one of the greatest seasons in Major League Baseball. Williams hit an astounding .406, yet still finished second behind Joe DiMaggio in the Most Valuable Player voting.
Other CSG-certified highlights in the auction include:
