CGC Trading Cards Certifies 01/15 Amazing Fantasy #15 Comic Cut Card

CGC Trading Cards® has certified another superhero-rare Amazing Fantasy #15 Marvel card that features an original panel direct from the pages of Amazing Fantasy #15. The 1962 Marvel Comics grail is cherished in the comic book world as the issue that introduced Spider-Man. Only 15 comic panel cards were produced for the 2022 Spider-Man Metal Universe set by Upper Deck.
CGC Trading Cards recently graded a Spider-Man Metal Amazing Fantasy #15, from the first appearance of Spider-Man, assigning it a grade of CGC 9, with sub-grades of 9.5 Centering, 9 Surface, 8.5 Corners and 9 Edges. The back of the card includes a notation of 01/15. In just the past few months, CGC Trading Cards has also graded the cards with notations of 02/15, 03/15 and 06/15.

As the first appearance of Spider-Man, Amazing Fantasy #15 is one of most-famous comic grails. Even lower-grade copies of Amazing Fantasy #15 can go for five or six figures, and in 2021, a CGC 9.6 copy was sold for a then-record-setting amount of $3.6 million.
Comic cuts have a long history in Marvel cards dating back to the 2006 Marvel: The Complete Avengers set, which featured oversized cards that had cuts from the original comic books. Now, they are standard card-sized and house some of the most influential comic book moments in Marvel history. You can find these cuts in many Marvel cards sets, from 2011’s Marvel Beginnings all the way to more recent sets like 2020’s Marvel Ages and 2021’s X-Men Metal Universe.
