The Top 10 CSG-certified Julio Rodriguez Baseball Cards
Posted on 4/3/2023
On April 8, 2022, 21-year-old Dominican outfielder Julio Rodriguez made his major league debut on Opening Day as the Seattle Mariners' center fielder. In just his first season with Seattle, the elite prospect made the 2022 MLB All-Star team, came in second in the Home Run Derby and won both the Silver Slugger Award and the AL Rookie of the Year Award. However, Rodriguez's meteoric rise to MLB stardom began when he was just a teenager.
The outfielder started his professional baseball journey at 16 years old when he joined the Mariners' rookie-level affiliate in the Dominican Prospect League. The average age of DPL players was at least three years older than Rodriguez, but he still stood out, making the DPL All-Star team in his first season.
He would quickly move up the ranks as Seattle transferred him to the minor leagues in the US, where he became the team's No. 1 prospect and the No. 2 overall on the MLB Top 100 Prospects list. Now, he is already one of the leaders on a much-improved Mariners team as Seattle made the playoffs in 2022 for the first time in 21 years. At this pace, Rodriguez could be among the MLB's perennial best much sooner than anyone expected.
In fact, Rodriguez had such a great rookie season that he's being prominently used to promote the new 2023 Topps Baseball Series 1 on all packaging. To celebrate the young MLB star and his inclusion as the main endorser of the new Topps series, we're revisiting 10 of his best baseball cards that were graded by Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®).
