CGC Trading Cards Grades 1/1 Hodag SuperFractor MetaZoo Card
Posted on 6/9/2023
CGC Trading Cards® recently certified an ultra-rare 1/1 Hodag from the 2023 Topps Chrome Series 0: Cryptid Nation MetaZoo set. The Hodag, MetaZoo Topps (2023) Chrome Cryptid Nation – #26-F Cryptid Camera SuperFractor received a grade of CGC 8.5 with sub-grades of 9.5 for Centering, 8 for Surface and 10 for Corners and Edges.
In April 2023, Topps released a limited-edition set of MetaZoo cards. The set, titled Topps Chrome Series 0: Cryptid Nation, revisits battles, lore and creatures from MetaZoo’s Cryptid Nation Series 0 and Wilderness sets — the first two sets in the MetaZoo Trading Card Game. Interested collectors could pull cards from blaster packs, which included four cards per pack, or Hobby Boxes, which included 20 packs. Unfortunately for fans, the set was so highly anticipated that it sold out in 30 minutes.
Topps’ Chrome Series 0: Cryptid Nation set has a total of 150 cards, and each of these cards has different Refractor parallels, including Green, Gold, Orange, Black and SuperFractors. SuperFractors are, without a doubt, the rarest of the Refractor parallels — each card only has one SuperFractor print. MetaZoo collectors have a one in 9,064 chance of pulling a SuperFractor from a hobby box. Odds are slim to none!
“SuperFractors from this set are incredibly rare, and CGC Trading Cards is thrilled to have graded such a fantastic example,” said Matt Quinn, Vice President of CGC Trading Cards. “We look forward to seeing what other MetaZoo rarities come to the grading room in the future.”
This 1/1 Hodag is the first example of a SuperFractor from Topps’ Chrome Series 0: Cryptid Nation set that CGC Trading Cards has certified. CGC Trading Cards has graded other Topps parallel cards from other sets, including a 1/1 Ghost-Spider and a 1/10 Miles Morales from Topps’ 2022 Marvel Metal Universe set. Learn more about them here.
