CGC Certifies Immaculate Collection Rarities Featuring NBA Stars Victor Wembanyama and Luka Doncic

CGC® has seen a variety of high-end modern sports card submissions pass through the grading room recently, as collectors continue to rely on CGC's leading third-party certification, grading and encapsulation services for their prized collectibles. In September 2025, Panini released its annual premium Immaculate Collection Basketball set, which features jumbo memorabilia relics and plenty of on-card autographs. And now, two of the most sought-after cards in the set have been authenticated and graded by CGC experts.
As is typical with this high-end set, the newest Immaculate Collection boasts only one pack per hobby box, with only 6 cards contained in each pack. Each box guarantees collectors six premium cards, including one base card, base parallel or insert, two memorabilia cards and three autographs. One of the biggest draws of the annual set is rare game-worn patch cards that can feature some of the most prominent parts of a player's jersey, like portions of their name, jersey number or team logo. Some special patches can even feature an entire brand logo, like the Nike patch that is featured on the above 2024-25 Panini Immaculate Collection Jumbo Patches #JP-WEM Victor Wembanyama - FOTL graded CGC 9.
Serial-numbered to only two copies ever made, the rarity contains an entire Nike logo, which was removed from Wembanyama's game-worn jersey. Representing one of the most collected young players in the NBA today, this particular patch card is one of the most coveted memorabilia cards in the Immaculate set.
Beginning his professional career at only 15 years old, Wembanyama declared for the 2023 NBA Draft, becoming arguably the most hyped young prospect to enter the league since LeBron James. Drafted No. 1 overall by the San Antonio Spurs, the 7'4" center earned Rookie of the Year honors, an NBA All-Rookie First Team selection and NBA All-Defensive First Team selection in his first season.
Wembanyama missed significant time early in his NBA career due to injuries and other health-related issues but has played in the majority of the Spurs' games this season, and it has showed. The young center is living up to expectations and is a prime candidate for the MVP Award this season. He has led San Antonio to the second-best record in the entire NBA, with only a few games left in the regular season, and looks to have returned the Spurs to a perennial playoff-bound team with championship aspirations.
Other popular cards to chase from the high-end series include both a patch and autograph. And while RPAs (Rookie Patch Autographs) are always highly collectible, so are patch autos of elite NBA veterans like Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic.
Lakers fans will have to wait until the next set for Immaculate cards that feature Doncic in purple and gold, with the most recent product showing the Slovenian-born guard in his older Dallas Mavericks uniform. Featuring a game-worn jersey patch and on-card autograph, the 2024-25 Panini Immaculate Collection Premium Patch Autographs #PPA-LUD Luka Doncic - FOTL earned a grade of CGC 9, with an autograph graded CGC 10. Serial numbered to only 3 copies made, the rarity is one of the last premium cards created with ties to Doncic's seven seasons in Dallas.
During his time in Dallas, Doncic blossomed from an up-and-coming young star to one of the faces of the league. He led the Mavericks to their first NBA Finals since 2011 and has racked up numerous individual accolades, including the Rookie of the Year award, six All-Star selections, five All-NBA First Team selections and the 2024 NBA scoring title. In addition, Doncic holds the Dallas franchise records for career triple-doubles and most points in a season.
Although his trade to the Lakers was one of the most shocking transactions in NBA history, the guard has already ingratiated himself with the Lakers faithful. Doncic has posted multiple 40-point-plus performances throughout this season, becoming only the second player in NBA history to start a season with three consecutive games of at least 40 points and peaking with a 60-point game on March 19. Although he just sustained a hamstring injury, Doncic is currently leading the league in scoring with an average of 33.5 points per game and is another serious candidate for this season's MVP Award.
