There are 24 different pre-code era film actresses shown, with the one exception being Joan Crawford who has two different cards, #'s 1 and 17 (bringing the set to a total of 25 cards). The 1937 date is taken from Murray's Guide; but, other sources date the set to 1932 based on the stars included and the film titles named. Lloyd & Sons issued three additional series of cards with a glossy finish as well Series 1 (1935) comprises cards #1-27; Series 2 (1935) cards #28-54; and Series 3 (1936) cards # 55-81. Each card measures approximately 1-7/16" X 2-11/16" and consists of black and white photos with a brownish/sepia type tone, matte finish on front, biographical text on back.
